A Little Farther Than Planned

Wednesday night I went out for another sunset run. I was in a little bit of a bad mood, since I was off work too late to go to Jaylee's soccer game. I remembered how great the run with the sunset was the other night, so I knew it would cheer me up. The sunset was so pretty that I just kept running!!

The run turned out to be just what I needed!!!

Last night I was supposed to run.......

I got ready to go, Kristin and I had decided to do an easy 3 at 8:00. I got in the car, and texted her to let her know I was on my way. The response I got was, "OMG....Totally forgot, I am at IKEA....Sorry" A real runner would have just gone out and done the 3 miles anyway....BUT, I decided to go get icecream and go home!!! It was almost as good as running and watching sunsets!! :)

Lets Hear it for the Cheerleaders!

I have to thank Leah, Jen and Sonney Jo, for encouraging me to run last night! I REALLY did not want to. I posted on Facebook last night that I didn't want to run, I wanted to sit on my comfy couch and cry. I had no reason to cry, it just felt like something way cooler to do than running! Those 3 girls each posted a comment of encouragement.

Leah M Allen Wow... You sound completely average. normal. human. Do not be like me, A loach. GET OUT THERE AND MAKE us PROUD!!!!!

I think Leah's comment was the one that really got me going...Normal, What? I have never been called normal before! After I ran though, I thought....hey maybe I should try normal, it would mean that I could have stayed on the couch :)

Oh, well, I ran, I bumped into a tree hanging over the sidewalk....I couldn't see it because someone stole the copper wiring from the street lights. More miles logged and only 4 days until Disney TinkerBell Run!!! http://espnwwos.disney.go.com/events/rundisney/tinker-bell-half-marathon.

Thanks for the encouragement friends!!

hip hip horray for Running and Sunsets!!

I discover Bliss last night!! When I got home from work, I decided to get a quick 3 mile run in before dinner. I walked in the door, said my hello's got a kiss from Shaun, and ran to change into my running stuff. It has been about 5 days since my last run, and since it was Monday night, "Bachelor Viewing Party" night, I had to squeeze this run in.
As I started my run, I realized it was still a little light out, but not too bright. When I got to the 1.5 mile mark, it was time to turn around and head back down the hill and back home. That's when I saw "it"! It was a gorgeous sunset! The picture I took on my phone while running doesn't do the sunset any justice, but trust me it was beautiful! I ran the rest of the way with my head turned to the right, watching the sunset! yeah for my squeezed in 3 mile run!!!

Need to be more creative in my blogging

But today won't be the day I start :)

Tuesday night I did a fun run with Kristen!!! We did more chatting than we did running, it was fun to catch up!! She needs to join Kara and I on a regular basis....Oh wait, Kara never runs with me, but one day she will run out of excuses and HAVE to run with me.

Jacob and His....Ummmm, Ummmmm, Talent???

The Blog is titled, "I Run My Life", so I guess I will put a little bit of life stuff in here.
The other night Jacob decided he was going to show off some of his ummm, talent.....

Tummy Ache Needs to Leave

I haven't run the last 2 days, I need to make sure I run tomorrow, that that I have at least 3 runs this week. I have 15 days until the Tinkerbell Half, I am so excited, I just need this tummy ache to get the heck out of here, so I can have a productive run.

I have decided on 3 more runs for the upcoming months. The spring is a little tough due to Jaylee's gymnastics meets, Jacobs baseball games and weddings that need to be shot, but I will squeeze my races in. I am going to run the Bidwell Classic again, 1/2 marathon in Chico, March 3rd. The Rocklin run, 5k again in April and the Davis Moonlight 1/2 in July. I am guessing it will be pretty hot in July in Davis, even at night, so that run will be tough, but I can do it.

Speaking of springtime, our lives are going to be CRAZY! Jaylee will be finishing up her indoor soccer league, she will also have all of her gymnastics competitions. I think there are 8 total, one at Knotts Berry Farm. Jacob will be starting his minor A little league, and Shaun will be the head coach this year. We have also booked quite a few spring weddings, we will be traveling to Merced, and Monterey, and the Delta. We also have our real jobs, homework, birthday parties and end of the school year activities, but we love being busy, so all should be good!!

Ok, back to running....my run on Thursday night felt great. I planned on a 3 miler, but when I got to the mile and a half mark, I decided to go out a little further, and ended up with a 4 mile run. I love when I go farther than planned, much better than having to bow out early.

8 Miles Again...why, I don't know

Last week after Roshell and I ran our 8 mile run, we scheduled ourselves another one for last night. All day I was trying to figure out a way to get out of it, but also to find time to run at least 3. I had my super moment of weakness when Christina messaged me and invited me to come to Bachelor Monday at her house with all the girls.....I REALLY wanted to go, and Shaun REALLY wanted me to go, so that he wouldn't have to sit through the show with me. I was super tempted, but decided, the Bachelor is on again next week, so I can watch it with her then, and I ran!!
We did the same Roseville route that we did last week, and the run felt good. I did step on a dropped seed thing and twisted my ankle a little bit, and today I have a little tenderness, and my GPS stopped....well, actually I hit the wrong button, but whatever it didn't work well. Thank goodness Roshell had hers on.
I am glad I ran, and didn't let myself get out of it....I was especially glad when I was able to eat a cherry pastry from Panera this morning....See, I run for crap :)

Tina and Brussel Sprouts!!!

This blog post is dedicated to Tina, because she is one of the most amazing and coolest chicks I know!!!

Today I posted the reason I run on Facebook. "I run so I can eat crap" This statement is so me!! I love to eat sugar, can't stop eating it, I just love anything sweet. With the amount of food I eat, I should weigh 400lbs, and once my knees give out or legs break, I probably will weigh 400lbs.

One of my Facebook friends, the lovely Leah Allen replied to my status with "I run for the same reason, I've just never heard anyone say it out loud" Why not say it out loud? It's the best reason to run!! :)

Another friend, Tim, posted to my status "Diets are so ineffective. Burn it off with good ole fashioned sweat" Yes Tim, Yes!!! I have never dieted, nor do I ever want to, I want to eat what and when I want!!!

That is the reason I run, maybe I should change my blog name to "I run so I can eat crap" or "crap is my motivation"

Today I ran 3.21 miles. I ran after I cleaned the house and did laundry, and before I went to RP to pick the kids up from their Dads house. I don't like running in daylight, and can't stand running midday, but I really wanted a Blizzard, so I ran. I am pretty sore after, which is strange since it was such a short run, but I think that since my heart wasn't really in the run, it made my body have to work harder to complete it.

Forgot to post Wednesday's run 1/4/12

Wednesday nights run was awesome!!! Roshell and I ran 8 miles, all around Roseville....we started at Sutter Roseville, ran all over, went by Kaiser and back to Sutter...I like that there were hospitals along the way in case we needed emergency care :)
I felt great during and after the run, no soreness at all!!!

2012 all about running

Looks like my last blog was about 10 months ago! I am so consistent with this thing. This year my plan for "I Run My Life" is just to keep track of my running miles and times.

During my 10 month absence, I ran a few races.
On April 3, 2011, I ran the Rocklin run 5k. Roshell and I ran this race together and I ran my best time so far: 28:23. I enjoyed that run, a lot of Jaylee's friends parents ran it, and it was a good way to wake up on a weekend.
The next race I did was on November 6, 2011, The Chico Almond Bowl, my second 1/2 marathon, not only my second 1/2 ever, but my second 1/2 of the year. As mentioned in my previous post, I have absolutely fallen in love with the 1/2. I ran this race without training, and was sore a crap the next 2 days. My time was 3 minutes slower than my first 1/2, 2:18:56.
On December 10, 2011, I decided to join Kara, her Mom, sisters and other family members in the Jingle Bell Rock'n 5k. This race was horrible because, somehow I completely missed the 5k turn around spot (there was a 5k and 10k going on at the same time). I ran close to 4 miles instead of the 3.1, my time was 34:55. That is my worst 5k time, but it was still fun to run and hey, a little extra running didn't hurt me.

For 2012 I have 2 runs scheduled so far. On January 29th, I am running the TinkerBell 1/2 at Disneyland! I am so excited!!! Shaun, Jaylee, Jacob, Jason, Christy, Annie and Shane will all be at Disneyland with me....so hopefully they all plan to get up early that day, so I can have some cheerleaders! I am so excited that everyone will be there and that we all get to have a ton of fun with the Mouse after the race!! I am hoping to PR on this one, but we will see if I even train before it. When I ran the Bidwell Classic in March, I did a lot of training and wasn't sore at all. When I ran in the Almond Bowl, I hadn't trained at all, I was too busy getting married in Hawaii to train, I was so sore for days after. This time I can't afford to be sore, I have 2 full days of Disney after the race.

I also have the Roseville Chocolate Run scheduled for 2012. The run is in February, and will be a 5k. Jacob wants to run in it also. Kara and her family may also be joining, and I heard from Roshell today that she plans to run.....who doesn't want to run in a race that has the word Chocolate in the title.

As I was saying earlier, I want this years blog to just track my runs, times, and races.
